About How Gr8
Hi! I'm Jason. I originally started the How Gr8 to be the home of my love for illustration and design that lives at the intersection of faith and traditional values.
I created these designs and illustrations for the love of doing them, and I'd share them on social media. With this post in particular I started getting really wonderful feedback that included people wanting to see it on stuff (Gen-Z calls it "merch", thankfully I'm not that cool).
While I didn't really consider doing anything like that before, I started to think there might be something to it. After months of consideration, and then taking action, my little corner of the vast metaverse of marketplaces came into being.
How Gr8's creative energy is centered on faith, freedom, and fun. The goal is to have this artwork empower people to express themselves, their love for our Lord, and their love for American ideals, all while (hopefully) putting a smile on people's faces.
So, thank you for being here! Check out what's going on in the shop, and buy something! When you do you are taking part in our 8th Day Giving (What is that? Read on...), you put a smile on your face (and others while you're at it), and you let the world know the greatness of God and country.
8th Day Giving
Helping people start again.
In January of 2023, alongside with my friends and family, I suffered a major personal tragedy. In that tragedy I saw the beauty and generosity of family and community as God intended it to be. I promised myself I would never forget how significantly people showed up in such a great time of need. How Gr8 isn't just a passion project for me, it's also a way to pay it forward.
Inspired by the day Jesus rose, 8th Day Giving is the way How Gr8 gives back and helps others step into something new.
Every time you shop with us, 8% of profits will go toward helping people see a new morning in their lives—whether it’s assistance with foster care or adoption, recovering from a tragic loss, or seeking redemption, 8th Day Giving seeks to be part of their solution.
That’s not all, on the 8th day of every month 100% of our revenue will go to these causes.
Why “8th Day”?
In the Bible, the number 8 holds significance in ways that symbolize the start of something new. Notably in Genesis God rested on the 7th day, and the 8th signified a new beginning. Similarly, Easter Sunday and Sunday worship was viewed by early Christians as the 8th day of Holy Week and the start of (another) new beginning.
As such 8th Day Giving is about giving back to help people find a fresh start, and a way forward.
Money raised from 8th Day Giving will go to the following causes
- Support for families by seeking renewal in brokenness. This means help for adoption and foster care services, as well as support for widows and widowers.
- Prison fellowship programs
- Programs centered around American renewal
